Michael's Obituary
Michael Alan Anderson was born at St. Patrick’s Air Force Base in Florida on April 17th, 1973. He is the son of Phyllis Kjellberg and Alan Anderson. He graduated East Troy High School in 1991, and went on to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License in 2015, of which he was extremely proud.
Michael was united in marriage to his best friend Dawn Eilert on June 17th, 2000 in St. John’s Catholic Church in Beloit KS. They shared many adventures and made so many memories together over the years.
Michael excelled at so many things. First of all, he was a craftsman woodworker who could build exquisite furniture. He had a natural vision and competency when it came to all things working with his hands, including woodwork, construction and mechanical work. He worked in residential construction in Beloit for several years, then moved to Manhattan Kansas where he learned to love light commercial construction. Later he honed his leadership skills as a job site manager in Kansas City, overseeing a large crew building high profile projects. He especially enjoyed light commercial construction including drywall, ceilings and steel framing. Later he moved to Beloit Kansas to take up more residential construction work and working hard on the family farm. He enjoyed working on his own projects, especially his family home. Regardless of the project, Michael took much pride in excellence, and was always striving to improve himself.
Most important however was his genuine good heart. Empathy, kindness and generosity may have been the greatest of his many assets. He would do anything for anyone in need. He was patient, kind, thoughtful, honest and a true gentleman. He also had a very strong faith in God.
Michael had an inherent love for all animals, and especially enjoyed time with his dogs. He was a patriot for the United States. He enjoyed watching football in his spare time, and was a notoriously enthusiastic fan of the Steelers. He really loved to travel and was always up for any adventure. He had a real love for all of his family and friends. No one ever had a negative word to say about Michael.
In addition to his wife and best friend Dawn, immediate family members that remain to cherish the memories of his life are his mother Phyllis Kjellberg and Jennifer Cody, as well as his grandmother Doris Shadoan. He is well remembered by his in-laws Donald and Dolores Eilert, brothers-in-law Charles Cody, Mark Eilert, Arnold Eilert, Brent Eilert and sister-in-law Ann Eilert, as well as his many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and a lifetime of cherished friends. A special mention goes out to his God-children Josselyn and Thomas Eilert.
